Grand Prairie police are asking for the public's help in identifying an armed robber who cocked a handgun at a man at a car wash last week and then took his wallet.
Minutes later, the robber attempted to use a credit card that had been in the victim's wallet, Grand Prairie police said Thursday.
Authorities released a surveillance camera photograph of the robber taken from the store where he attempted to use the credit card.
The holdup occurred at 8:18 a.m. Oct. 21 at an open bay car wash in the 3000 block of Kingswood Boulevard in Grand Prairie.
The suspect walked up to the man, pulled out a handgun and said, "Give me your wallet," police said.
The victim told the suspect he didn't have one, but the robber cocked the handgun and said, "Give me your wallet or I'll shoot you," according to police.
At that point, the victim surrendered his wallet.
The robber attempted to use the credit card about 10 minutes after the holdup, Grand Prairie police said.
The bandit was driving a gray, possibly Chevrolet, 4-door vehicle accompanied by a black female.
Witnesses described the gunman as a Hispanic man, in his 20s, about 6-foot tall and weighing about 185 pounds.
