Etched Plate and Ink Press  - 1990

This picture started life off as a an incredibly trite pencil sketch which was abhorred my junior college art instructor.  However, being the exuberant (and stubborn) youth I was, I stuck with it.  The sketch was then transferred to a meticulously etched zinc press plate.  The end result yielded several prints of various colors.  However, the first test sheet was overly wet and came out looking rather weathered with a nostalgic feel (purely accidental and totally un-reproducible) and remains one of my favorites.  My art instructor never did approve of my choice of subjects and I ended up dropping the class.
