Pen and Pastel Rendering  - 1998

The nature, in fact the core essence, of art is creativity.  Creativity is in the colors, textures, subject and size.  It is the latter that has always particularly appealed to me.  Art typically does not come in standard sizes or proportions.  My drawings are no exception and most of it has gone unframed, merely tacked to the wall or archived in a portfolio, due to incompatibility of off-the-shelf frames and the exorbitant price of custom framing.
However, in digitizing my images I stumbled across new challenges.  Not only are most of my drawings of unusual shape, but most are larger than a standard 9"x12" scanner bed.  Frequently much is lost in the translation - like the rear portion of the bike.  However, in this case I think it actually helps.
