I drew this illustration of a friend's car for the reasonable fee of two cases of Guinness beer.  From this venture I had several almost-simultaneous realizations: (1); The best reward in doing illustrations for other people, especially of anything with sentimental value, is seeing their eyes light up when they see end item (although, I never recall that gleam from my boss when I worked as a graphic designer, and especially after missing a deadline), (2); people are still willing to pay me, (3); a good dark beer is as good of a motivation as any, and finally, (4); I should quit with the revelations and just enjoy the beer.
